Tanz mit der Welt was written for the concert series Music as vinyl, tapes and songs by Stichting plan B, and was premiered on January 7th 2012 in Theater Zeebelt (The Hague) by Anat Spiegel.
The sung and spoken texts are quotes from Heinz von Foerster, and were taken from the book Die Wahrheit ist die Erfindung eines Lügners by Bernhard Pörksen and Heinz von Foerster.
The piece is in three parts and deals with: Part I - the distinct fact that Von Foerster was born in Vienna, Austria, Part II - the miraculous existence of the tiniest fly, Part III - the purpose of dancing.
The soprano is accompanied by, or accompanies, a vinyl record with a soundtrack created by the composer. The text in Part II of the soundtrack was spoken by cellist Katharina Gross.
